CICAR Lanzarote Ciudad de Arrecife leaves 2 points on the road again

CICAR Lanzarote Ciudad de Arrecife suffered its second defeat of the season on Saturday afternoon, a setback that complicates the Lanzarote team's qualifying situation in Group A of the Women's Silver Division. The players of San José Obrero never felt comfortable on the court against Grupo CHR Hand Vall Valladolid and again gave many facilities in the defensive line.

The Valladolid player Laura Armanda was in charge of opening the scoring, with CICAR Lanzarote Ciudad de Arrecife reacting with goals scored by Miriam Páez and Nagore Saenz. Nothing foreshadowed the final outcome of the match, with the visitors reaching a three-goal lead before the halfway point of the first half thanks to a 0-3 partial (4-7).

The exclusion of Danielle de Sousa was used by Grupo CHR Hand Vall Valladolid to tie the score, with Marta Valderrama in charge of scoring the three goals for her team. Lorena Montilla and Nagore Saenz were in charge of putting the visitors ahead again on the scoreboard (7-9).

The forces were equalized on the 40x20 in the minutes remaining until the end of the first half, with Grupo CHR Hand Vall Valladolid managing to tie the score again. With the score tied at 12 goals, the first 30 minutes of the match came to an end.

CICAR Lanzarote Ciudad de Arrecife came out asleep to the court in the second half, with the goal of the winger Nagore Saenz being a mirage with which she put her team ahead again. Grupo CHR Hand Vall Valladolid achieved a partial score of 4 to 0, forcing David Betancort to request a time-out.

After the instructions from the bench, the Lanzarote team got fully into the match, tying the match with a partial score of 0-3, and being on this occasion Rubén Carrasco who had to request a time-out. The Valladolid players regained control of the game and the two goals of Jana Cuesta put them ahead again.

CICAR Lanzarote Ciudad de Arrecife was still not comfortable on the court. In defense they continued to give many facilities and only the saves of the youth player Yarisa González kept her team alive. And in attack they were very rushed, without finding the best alternatives and sometimes making war individually.

With seven minutes remaining until the end of the match, David Betancort requested a new time-out, and ordered a mixed defense on one of the most outstanding players of the rival. Nagore Saenz scored two goals with two distant shots, reducing the difference to the minimum expression. The Lanzarote players did not take advantage of the exclusion of Alicia Hernández and made many mistakes in the final minutes to leave two points on the road.

Defeat by 31 to 27 of CICAR Lanzarote Ciudad de Arrecife against Grupo CHR Hand Vall Valladolid, placing the Lanzarote team in seventh position with 4 points and being 7 points away from the two teams that lead the standings. On Wednesday it will be time to recover one of the two postponed matches, visiting Balonmano Saeplast Cañiza.
