After more than a month of training, the Club Balonmano Lanzarote Zonzamas squad faces its third consecutive season in the national category and with the aim of continuing to consolidate itself in the Women's Handball Silver Honor Division. The batatero team has undergone a small restructuring of its squad, with the incorporation of new players and giving continuity to the players who were in the second team last season.
CB Lanzarote Zonzamas has made three incorporations to face the new season in the Women's Handball Silver Honor Division. The Lanzarote team reinforces the goal with the arrival of Nélida Valiente, the first line with Mari Nerva Hernández and has acquired the services of the left-handed Patri Lucena. It is expected that Patri Lucena will join the team in mid-October, not being available to face the first days of competition.
The club's objective is to give continuity to the players who were in the team last season and continue with the training of the players of the second women's team. In this sense, Sara de León, Malena Valiente, Saray Abreut, Nisamar Ramos, Tania Tejera, Eva Guirado, Diana García, Xiomara Sánchez, Andrea Rodríguez and María de León continue in CB Lanzarote Zonzamas. And Gabriela Lostal and Laura Hernández join the first team.
AD Carballal will be the first rival of CB Lanzarote Zonzamas in the 2017/2018 season. An old acquaintance of the Lanzarote team, which has had to face in previous seasons and coinciding in several sector phases of the Spanish Championship. Last season the Galicians comfortably achieved permanence in the category, placing themselves in the quiet area of the classification.
The coach of CB Lanzarote Zonzamas, Miguel Ángel Lemes, highlights from the rival that "it is a fairly young team" and points out that "in recent seasons their youth team has been among the top classified in the Spanish Championship". Lemes points out from AD Carballal that "last year in the first ten games they only lost one match" and anticipates that "we are going to try to stop them and start well".
The match between CB Lanzarote Puerto del Carmen and AD Carballal will be played on Sunday at 12:00 hours in the Municipal Pavilion of Las Palmeras de San Bartolomé. A meeting that will be directed by the referees Víctor Navarro Vaquero and Johnny Afonso Hernández. The club informs that access to the pavilion will be through the door attached to the main entrance, due to the activity programmed by the San Bartolomé City Council outside the facilities.
