CB San José Obrero Lanzarote did not play its best game of the season on Saturday afternoon and for many minutes was playing with fire against a rival from the bottom of the standings. The reaction of the Lanzarote team came in the last twenty minutes of the match, turning the score around to win 39-32 against UB Lavadores Vigo and adding the two points that were at stake.
The match began with the dominance of CB San José Obrero, a team that imposed its rhythm on the court and that, based on speed, easily surpassed UB Lavadores Vigo. The first few minutes highlighted the performance of Carmelo Álvarez, a player who scored four of his team's first seven goals (7-3).
Near the halfway point of the first half, UB Lavadores Vigo showed what their intentions were in the match and reduced the difference to the minimum expression. The local defense stole two balls and Mikita Liavonau culminated two quick counterattacks to raise the rent again to three goals (11-8).
The Galicians changed their defensive system and began to press throughout their court. Adrián Suárez was in charge of leveling the score and then this same player culminated a counterattack to put UB Lavadores Vigo ahead on the scoreboard (13-14). Iñaki Malumbres had to request a time-out.
The game of San José Obrero did not improve after the time-out requested by the coach, and Adrián Suárez and Manuel Martín were in charge of raising the rent in favor of the visitors to three goals (13-16). At the end of the first thirty minutes of play, the result was 17 to 18, leaving the match open for the second half.
Óscar Silva tied the game for the locals at the beginning of the second half, but the ghosts of the first half soon reappeared. UB Lavadores Vigo recovered the three-goal lead (21-24), and Iñaki Malumbres had to request a time-out to change the dynamics of his team.
