CB Lanzarote Puerto del Carmen continues its good run after winning this Saturday in the Municipal de Tías against Bm. Morrojable V.C. (26-18) in a postponed match corresponding to the tenth round of the Canarian Women's Territorial League.
After this new victory, the team led by Miguel Ángel Lemes is placed fifth with twelve points. Morrojable remains in third place with fifteen points.
The match started with some equality and some sleepiness, with the teams somewhat rusty. After three minutes the real clash began. Yellow card and two minutes for Manolo Alba Santana for protesting, but, shortly after, in the next play, two minutes for the yellow team. Sweet and capricious justice (3-3, min. 7'26).
As the minutes passed, doubts began to arise in the attack of the visitors, which the Tías team managed to transform into their favorite snack, counterattack goals (7-4, min. 11).
Zenaida Ramos appeared to give three goals to the Majoreras from the left side, which put them fully back into the game (7-7, min. 13'30).
At times, irreparable leaks in the locals who sank while Morro continued with its positive partial (7-9, min. 16), causing Lemes' first timeout.
Nayara De León broke the local drought while being outnumbered. A clear grab near the neck in a penetration by Carla de Marco, protested by the entire stands, remained water under the bridge. The referees interpreted that Lemes was also protesting and gave him two minutes that left the aurinegras even more outnumbered. Morrojable smelled blood and took advantage of it to go four up on the Tías scoreboard.
A penalty transformed by Nayra Gil moved, at last, the Tías scoreboard after a thirsty journey through the desert. The second half started with some confusion in both teams. Carla de Marco took out the cannon she possesses to bring her team closer on the scoreboard. Immediately, Nayra Gil scored another penalty to return equality to the match (15-15, min. 8'23).
It seemed that the match was reborn. The Tías defense improved, which, together with the post and Dana Calero, created the necessary breeding ground to turn the match around. New landscape in the clash.
Lemes asked for a timeout towards the last part of the match (17-15, min. 15'11). After the break, the Tías team came out plugged in and achieved a three-zero partial (20-15).
Yasmín Fernández broke the Majorera drought with a clever play, but the Tías team had already set the direct route (22-16). As an almost desperate measure, Manolo Alba Santana ordered a mixed defense looking to detonate the match. Majorera timeout (22-17, min.22'17). The defensive changes of the visitors did not pose a major problem for the locals. There was no more time for more. The Tías team went further in the match while the Majoreras went less.
Zaida Armas became the top scorer of the locals with seven goals, well accompanied in the offensive facet by the five goals of Carla De Marca and the four of Nayra Gil. Among the Majoreras, Yasmin Fernández scored eight goals to also be the top scorer of the match.
The Tías Territorial team returns to the league competition next Sunday, March 16, at 12:00 hours in the IES Tegueste against Club Balonmano Tegueste Senior Femenino, a team that is second to last with only one victory in twelve matches played.
