Club Balonmano Puerto del Carmen is back in the play-off zone of group B of the Women's Silver Honor Division of Handball, after winning the match corresponding to the eighth day on Saturday afternoon. The Tiñoseras won by 23 to 22 against Camargo Ferroatlantica. The Bilbao team is practically ruled out of the fight for the first two places, although they sold the defeat very dearly. In the 10th minute of the second half, Puerto del Carmen had a nine-goal lead and it seemed that the match was decided. A slump in the last fifteen minutes made the end of the match a heart attack, knowing how to play Puerto del Carmen the last attacks to leave the two points in the Tías Municipal Pavilion.

From the beginning of the match, Camargo Ferroatlantica made it clear what their intentions were in this match, taking the initiative on the scoreboard in the first minutes. As the minutes passed, CB Puerto del Carmen was toning up in defense and attack. In the defensive line with the usual 6:0 did not allow the Bilbao players to be comfortable in attack. And in the attack zone, with a good circulation of the ball, they found the spaces in the Camargo defense.

Puerto del Carmen began to mark the first differences on the scoreboard. One of the keys to the first part was the second exclusion committed by María Coz. In order to reserve her for the remainder of the match, her coach sat her on the bench when the team was defending and only played when Canargo attacked. The Basques lost potential in defense. With three minutes remaining for the break, the scoreboard reflected a clear 15 to 8 in favor of Puerto del Carmen, with the Camargo coach asking for the second timeout of the match.

In the final stretch of the first half, Camargo would get back into the match, achieving a partial score of 0-2 and going to the break with five goals down (15-10). In this first part, Puerto del Carmen had recovered the good sensations of the season and that have led them to occupy the first places in the standings.

The second part of the match began with a 5-1 partial in favor of Puerto del Carmen, placing the result of 20 to 11 on the electronic scoreboard in the tenth minute of the second half. With a nine-goal advantage, it seemed that the match was over and that Puerto del Carmen was going to finish getting a placid victory. The Tiñosera players relaxed too much and Camargo Ferroatlantica never lost hope of getting a good result in this match.

Camargo Ferroatlantica was gradually reducing the differences on the scoreboard, achieving a partial score of 1 to 6. With ten minutes remaining for the end of the match, the score was 21 to 18, with Miguel Ángel Rodríguez Santana asking for a timeout to try to plug in his team. Puerto del Carmen had many problems in attack, not having a fluid circulation and making a bad selection of shots. Mari Sánchez was in charge of breaking her team's bad streak in attack, placing the 22 to 20 with six minutes remaining for the end of the match.

The comeback of Camargo Ferroatlantica was also a consequence of the good interventions of goalkeeper Patricia Amieva. In the 26th minute, she stopped a seven-meter shot by Atteneri Morales. And in the next attack play of Puerto del Carmen, she made two very meritorious interventions to shots by Kenia Hernández and Lourdes Alonso.

Rosa Álvarez returned the two-goal advantage to Puerto del Carmen (23-21), and with 30 seconds remaining, Camargo Ferroatlantica scored the goal that put the 23 to 22 on the scoreboard. Puerto del Carmen knew how to play the last play of the match, practically forcing the passive and controlling the circulation of the ball to avoid a theft by the Bilbao team. With the tight result of 23 to 22, the match came to an end.

Two gold points conquered by CB Puerto del Carmen and a triumph that allows them to be in the second position of the standings, depending on themselves in the final stretch of the season. The competition in the Women's Silver Honor Division is paralyzed until March 15, when Puerto del Carmen receives the visit of Beti-Onak, leader of group B of the competition.
