CB Lanzarote Puerto del Carmen premiered this Saturday with a victory against Solimusic Events Carballal (29-26) in a league match corresponding to the second day of the Women's Gold Honor Division.
First match and first victory in Gold for the Tiñoseras after the postponement of the first day. Juanmi Pérez's team started plugged into the match, achieving a four-goal difference in the first minutes (10-5, min. 15) that they managed to manage until the end of the match.
Javier Castro's Galicians tried but it wasn't their day. Despite the sensations observed on the Tiñosera court, Carballal did not throw in the towel and pushed until the final moments of the match. Good work by the local goalkeepers, both Cristina Mazaira in the first half and Made Cortez in the second, had a good performance.
For his part, the Tiñosero coach, convinced of the victory, once again demonstrated the non-negotiable youth team fundamentals of the team, as he played the last third of the match, the hottest moments, when the match is decided, with up to five players from the Tiñosera base: Carol López, Nayra Gil, Aitana Brito, Zaida Rodríguez and the captain, Atteneri Morales.
Sara Román became, with seven goals, the top scorer of the match and of the Galicians. In the aurinegras ranks, Delyne Leiva scored six goals to underpin the first victory in Gold in the history of Puerto del Carmen. Brenda Torres and Atteneri Morales helped her in the offensive facet with four goals each.
CB Lanzarote Puerto del Carmen will finally premiere as a visitor next Saturday, October 19, in their visit to the Macarena Aguilar pavilion, home of Vino Doña Berenguela Bm. Bolaños, a team from Ciudad Real that in the two days played so far achieved a victory by the minimum in their debut at home against Lobas Global Atac Oviedo (22-21) and was defeated this week in their first outing to Lanzarote against Zonzamas (25-23).
