CB Lanzarote Puerto del Carmen loses the lead after falling at home against Kukullaga

A match to forget for CB Lanzarote Puerto del Carmen this Saturday against Kukullaga Etxeberri, which means losing the lead for the first time this season, with five games left to play.

Miguel Ángel Lemes' players lost 28-32 in a match in which they did not feel comfortable from the first minute.

The Basque team finished off the match with good ball movement in attack, efficiency in front of goal and skill in the counterattack. Meanwhile, the conejeras lacked ideas in attack, with a low percentage of saves and excessive unnecessary turnovers.

A match with the Basques almost always ahead, after the deceptive tie with which both teams went to halftime. CB Lanzarote Puerto del Carmen seemed to start in the first minutes of the restart but they were mirages, the team deflated as the end approached, impotent perhaps pressured by what the match itself meant.

In the offensive work, Mari Sánchez's work with nine goals and Suely Pinto Spencer with six goals stood out. Among the players of the Basque team, Irati Vázquez stood out with eleven goals scored.

With this defeat, CB Lanzarote Puerto del Carmen confirms the delicate state of the team and loses the lead of Group B of the Women's Silver Division, remaining with 36 points and eighteen victories after twenty-one matches played. This week Logroño Sporting La Rioja and Atlántico Pereda have advanced in the standings, with 37 points each, after winning in their respective weekend matches, leaving the conejeras out of playoff positions and becoming highly dependent on whether the conejeras are able to achieve victory in the last match at the home of the new leader, Logroño Sporting La Rioja.

Next Saturday at 8:00 p.m., CB Lanzarote Puerto del Carmen visits the Colegio San Ignacio Pavilion to face Balonmano Loyola, a team that comes from losing at Schär Zaragoza (37-27) and is tenth in the standings, in the middle of the standings.
