CB Lanzarote Puerto del Carmen returned to the path of defeat this Saturday against Wise Anaitasuna (26-23) at the Anaitasuna Pavilion in Pamplona in a match corresponding to the fifth day of the Women's Honor Division Gold.

The match was in the hands of the 'tiñoseras' for most of the time. They reached halftime with an advantage (12-14) and, with five minutes left until the end, they still had chances of victory, tied at 22. But the last partial was fatal for the interests of the 'conejeras' and the balance finally fell to the Pamplona side. Puerto del Carmen was affected by the absence of up to four players during the match.

Bad luck with the injuries of the 'tiñosero' team. Sofía Ballada became the top scorer for the locals and the match with nine goals. In the ranks of the 'tiñoseras', Yuli Dácil Quevedo, back on the courts after an illness, scored six goals for Puerto del Carmen.

The Angolan Tati Masseu debuted with the gold and black elastic and scored four goals in her first match. After this defeat, the 'tiñoseras' are placed eleventh with three points. They accumulate one victory, one draw, and three defeats in five matches in their locker.

For the 'tiñosero' coach, Juanmi Pérez, this Saturday's match "has been a quite intense and tough match. We had some absences during the match, three or four players practically left the match due to injury. In the match, we were always ahead, we had our chances to win, and it turned around in the last minutes. That's how handball is. Very happy with the work of the players against an Anaitasuna that has a great team. They came from winning against the leader last week."

"I am quite happy with the attitude of the players and the match they played. Maybe we lacked a bit more luck at the end, but the match became a bit crazy in itself, with many penalties against us and a lot of toughness. I think we are on the right track, we have played a great match, I'll stick with that. Now to wait for the next one, but it shows that we are doing better and standing up more and more. I repeat, I am happy, not with the score, but with the fact that we were ahead for practically fifty-odd minutes. Maybe everything that happened to us during the match has affected us so that we couldn't win the match," concludes the 'tiñosero' coach.

The 'tiñosero' team receives Soliss Bm. Pozuelo de CVA next Saturday, November 16, at 6:00 p.m. at the Municipal de Tías, an important match for permanence since the 'ciudarrealeñas' are second to last with only one draw in their record after five matches played.
