CB Lanzarote Puerto del Carmen was defeated this Saturday in a match postponed due to COVID-19 corresponding to the sixth round of the Guerreras Iberdrola League in their visit to Aula Alimentos de Valladolid (38-18).
Defeat that closes the first round of the league competition and starts the competition break until January.
The match once again highlighted the Tiñosera defense, conceding twenty-one goals in the first half. An almost impossible burden to bear throughout the match if you want to caress the first league victory of the season. The Pucelano team remained ahead on the scoreboard throughout the match. The Tiñoseras withstood the pressure while their attack paid off. Midway through the first half (10-7, min.15) the distances on the scoreboard began to widen as the Tiñoseras' chances of scoring faded.
Lorena Aide Téllez was the most successful in front of the goal among the Valladolid players with seven goals, well escorted by Amaia González with six goals. Mary Sánchez stood out in this area with six goals and Keyla Hernández with five.
The Pucelano team, led by Miguel Ángel Peñas, confirms its fourth position in the Guerreras Iberdrola League with this victory, while the Tiñosero team continues as the bottom of the competition without yet knowing victory and with all hope placed in the last four league rounds.

For the Tiñosero coach, “we knew it was a match that was supposed to be complicated and it was. At an offensive level we were good in the first half, with a lot of rhythm and good effectiveness, but in defense we were not able to stop their one-on-one game from the wingers, clearly surpassing us and finishing a lot through the defensive center. 21 goals against was a burden in the first half. The second half we were somewhat better in defense but we started to have problems in attack. And after each loss they killed us with a counterattack. In the end, an exaggerated difference on the scoreboard that I think does not correspond to what was done”.
Lemes explains that “now comes the break until January, where we start again against the three big teams in the group (Guardés, Málaga and Bera Bera). A period where we have to correct many things and work very hard to be able to reach the second phase with points and be able to continue with the illusion of fulfilling our objective”, concludes the Tiñosero technical director.
