CB Lanzarote Puerto del Carmen managed to beat Camargo 74 Propenor Repsol this Saturday at the Tías Municipal Hall (28-21) in a match corresponding to the twenty-second day of Group A of the Women's Silver Honor Division.
With their homework done, first place in the league and a place in the promotion phase secured, the Tiñoseras appeared for the match against the Cantabrians with the seriousness and nobility that maximum sportsmanship requires.
The initial minutes of the Camarguese team in the Tiñosero forty by twenty were not particularly meritorious (5-0, min. 5). Whether it was the skill of the locals or the determination of the visitors, the truth is that apparent equality prevailed on the Tías scoreboard until halftime, perpetuating the initial differences (16-10, min. 30).
In the second half, it seems that the Cantabrian team began to run out of gas. The prevailing heat may have affected the Cantabrian players, who saw how Juanmi Pérez's team finished the match in just a few minutes of play (22-12, min. 40). From that moment on, the match was controlled by the aurinegras, who achieved a new victory, as unnecessary as those they achieve in the four remaining matches.
Andrea Tezanos became the top scorer for the visitors with 5 goals thanks to several penalties in the second half. In the offensive facet of the Tiñoseras, Fernanda Insfran once again stood out with 9 goals, on her way to being the top scorer in the group at the end of the season, she is 6 goals away, but with the best scoring average in the group.
The victory perpetuates the Tiñoseras at the top of the group with 42 points, with 21 victories and one defeat in their record. Camargo 74 remains in eleventh position with 11 points.
Puerto del Carmen has four matches left to know its future in the promotion phase. Next Saturday, March 18, they will visit one of the group's Gauls, AD Carballal Balonmano. The rest of the opponents until the end of the season will be Meaño (25/3) in Tías, Quesos Cerrato (1/4) in Palencia and will close the league in the Municipal de Tías with the Canarian derby against Rocasa (15/7).
