Ca´Mario Lanzarote San José Obrero suffered a new defeat on Saturday night that brings them closer to the bottom of the standings in the Men's Silver Division of Handball. The Lanzarote team could not beat an Ikasa BM Madrid that was always ahead on the scoreboard and was more successful in the key moments of the match.

Ikasa BM Madrid took control of the match from the start, taking the first advantages on the scoreboard. The court reflected how much was at stake in this match, with both teams not wanting to make mistakes that could cost them dearly. Jaime Gallardo from the wing and Marko Dzokic, former player of San José Obrero, were in charge of scoring the goals for the Madrid team.

Marko Dzokic was in charge of establishing the 7-3 on the scoreboard when only eight minutes of the match had been played. Jordi Lluelles was forced to call a timeout and try to stop the dynamics of the Madrid team. Ca´Mario Lanzarote San José Obrero reacted, staying in the match, although the locals always enjoyed a lead of two or three goals.

Nico López and Javi García, from the pivot, scored most of the goals for Ca´Mario Lanzarote San José Obrero. It was in the final stretch of the first half when San José Obrero reduced the advantage of Ikasa BM Madrid to the minimum expression. At the end of the first thirty minutes of play, the result was 14-13.

The second half began with a goal from the Brazilian Marcio Da Silva, putting the tie for the first time on the scoreboard of Francisco Fernández Ochoa (14-14). Ikasa BM Madrid responded to the action of the visitors with a 2-0 run, to regain control of the match.

In the middle of the second half, Ikasa BM Madrid achieved the maximum difference, obtaining a four-goal lead (23-19). Again Jordi Lluelles requested a timeout to prevent the Madrid team from sealing the match. His team reacted, and after the indications from the bench, they achieved a 1-5 run. Nico López tied the match with six minutes remaining (24-24).

Ikasa BM Madrid was not overwhelmed by nerves in the final minutes. Goalkeeper Pablo Pablo González stopped a decisive seven-meter shot and Carlos Donderis also stopped one of the last attacking actions of Ca.Mario Lanzarote San Joé Obrero. With the score of 25-24, the match came to an end, with the two points at stake staying in Madrid.

It is the fourth consecutive defeat suffered by Ca´Mario Lanzarote San José Obrero, placing them in the eleventh position of the standings and having a two-point advantage over the relegation zone of the category. San José Obrero will play next week with the visit of RGC Covadonga, a match that will be played on Sunday at 11:00 am in the Municipal Pavilion of Titerroy.
