CD Atlético Paso and CD Unión Sur Yaiza drew this Sunday in La Palma (1-1) in the twenty-fourth matchday of group 5 of the Second Football Federation, an insufficient result for both teams, located in relegation places.

The two Canary teams extend their bad run of results, and while the local team is at the bottom and has an increasingly complicated permanence in the category, the Lanzarote team continues six points away from the salvation places and misses another opportunity to reduce its points deficit.

Yaiza even missed a penalty with 1-1 on the scoreboard, stopped by goalkeeper Nico Rodríguez, and the local team finished the match with numerical inferiority when Revuelta was sent off in that action.

The two goals came in the second half. Yaiza took the lead in the 53rd minute with a low shot from Brazilian Fabricio that beat goalkeeper Nico Rodríguez low, after a backheel pass from Marco Siverio; the action had originated in a throw-in from the local team.

The advantage of the conejero team did not last long, until the 64th minute, when the Andalusian Juan Carlos Menudo converted a penalty with a strong low shot, sanctioned for a foul by Pato on Dawda.

The palmero team then had a great opportunity to come back on the scoreboard but Samu Corral sent his shot high when he was alone against Nauzet Pérez.

For its part, Yaiza also wasted the clearest opportunity of the match with a penalty signaled for a foul by Revuelta on Nuha Marong, which also cost the local player his second yellow card, and his corresponding expulsion in the 80th minute.

The Gambian striker himself executed the maximum penalty and Nico Rodríguez rejected the ball with one foot, to the despair of the visitors, who continue to resist victory when they need it most.
