Guanches San José Obrero could do little against the potential of Hotel Beatriz Amibal Toledo and ended up conceding a defeat against one of the favorites of group D of the Men's First National Handball Division. The forcefulness in attack of the Toledo team and their good defensive work were some of the keys to the defeat of Guanches San José Obrero.
From the beginning of the match, Amibal Toledo demonstrated its potential in attack and was in charge of having the first advantages on the scoreboard. The outside shot of the visitors broke the defense of Guanches San José Obrero again and again. Álvaro Guimaré was one of those in charge of scoring the first goals. And when the outside shot failed, they had the resource of Víctor Pedragosa, a very skilled player in attack.
Guanches San José Obrero had many difficulties to score in static attacks and throughout the match they could barely run. Amibal Toledo had hardly any errors in the circulation of the ball and this did not lead to the San José Obrero defense stealing the ball to go on the counterattack. The only fissures in the rival's defense were through the laterals, with Ángel Bonilla being the one who penetrated through this area on several occasions.
Amibal Toledo had advantages of four goals in this first half, being in the 23rd minute when they had their biggest lead (9-13). Guanches San José Obrero was able to withstand the rhythm of the rival and the break was reached with the score of 13 to 16.
Guanches San José Obrero could not withstand the rhythm imposed by their rival at the beginning of the second half. A 0-4 partial in the first seven minutes of the second half allowed Amibal Toledo to leave with a seven-goal advantage (13-20). These differences continued to increase as the minutes passed, forcing Miguel Ángel Lemes to ask for a time-out in the 10th minute (15-22).
The game of Guanches San José Obrero did not improve after the time-out and Hotel Beatriz Amibal Toledo enjoyed advantages of nine goals (15-24). The Lanzarote team was very erratic in attack in this second half, without the necessary intensity in attack to break the rocky defense of the visitors. And in defense they could not stop the attacks of Amibal Toledo.
Defeat without palliatives suffered by Guanches San José Obrero against Hotel Beatriz Amibal Toledo (25-31). A triumph that consolidates the Toledo team in the top positions of the standings and a defeat that places San José Obrero in tenth place. Their next rival will be Maristas Algemesi, a team that is fighting to get into the play-off zone.
