Great boom that ultra-distance events are taking in Lanzarote. Sporting events that combine nature, natural landscapes and the physical endurance of the participants. The first Haría Extreme will be held on October 1 in the northern municipality. The organizers have been overwhelmed with the number of registrations and for several weeks the quota of participants in each of the categories has been completed.
On Monday morning, the presentation of the first edition of the mountain race "Haría Extreme" took place. An event in which the mayor of the Arrecife City Council, José Torres Stinga, the Councilor for Sports, Christian Avero, and the president of Club Arista, David Déniz, were present.
The Haría Extreme will be an ultra-distance mountain race that will run through the trails of the municipality of Haría and will combine the landscapes of the north of the island with the physical effort that the participants of the race will have to make.
A test open to all audiences and for this, different distances have been prepared. The star event will be the Ultra Marathon of 50 kilometers. Then there is the Haría Extreme Medium of 22 kilometers and the Haría Extreme Senderista of 10 kilometers, prepared for all those people who want to enjoy the test at a low level of competition. In addition, a small route of about 500 meters has been prepared for the little ones.
The registrations have exceeded the initial forecasts and the organization has been forced to close the registrations when the quota of places in each of the modalities is completed. In recent months, more than 750 registration requests have been received, although only 450 places can be attended. The test is part of the international Trans Adventure Tour 2011 circuit, being valid for this year's edition.
The I Haría Extreme will be held on October 1. The company Binter Canarias collaborates in the test with a 50% discount on tickets for athletes who come from other islands, as does Naviera Armas with a 20% discount on boat trips. In addition, participants who come from other islands will have free stay in the school residence of the municipality.
