Leading the PSOE candidacy for the mayor's office of San Bartolomé is an honor and a responsibility, but also a wonderful opportunity to enjoy the encouragement and affection of many people who feel part of this project.
I never imagined that the act of my nomination as a candidate could be so full of affection, trust and support. And not only from my colleagues, but from all those people who came to share that little moment with us.
People from San Bartolomé who, without being affiliated, feel that their participation is important in this challenge of ensuring that their town hall remains in good hands.
Those of us who gathered on Friday at Casa Cerdeña shared an illusion but also shared a conviction: San Bartolomé should never return to the years of misgovernment, waste and shame.
Now, having fulfilled our electoral program, it is time to set new challenges and attention to the elderly will occupy a central place in our policies. We have a debt to our grandmothers and grandfathers and from the town hall we are going to launch a Network of Day Centers that will offer them leisure, culture and companionship.
Throughout these months, we will continue to elaborate on our proposals, but it seemed essential to start with this one, with so much social and human content and that reflects so much our values and principles.
There are days ahead to continue exchanging opinions, to continue adding wills and I am counting on you.
This is a collective project. It is about continuing on the path that Marcial Martín and Loli Corujo have marked. For both my respect and my affection, but above all, my commitment that I will know how to defend their legacy.
I cannot finish without reminding you, once again, something you already know: continuing to move forward and not returning to the gray years depends on the work of everyone.
