Letter to the Three Wise Men from the Spanish Association of Civil Guards (AEGC) If possible, we don't want coal

      Dear Wise Men:

From the Spanish Association of Civil Guards we dare to write to your majesties on these special dates with the hope that some gift will fall into the shoes of all Civil Guards.

Firstly, given that a climate change seems to be happening, from AEGC we consider if your Majesties would be so kind as to not send us more coal for our heating. For years we have been punished and we still don't know why. This year, like the previous ones, the vast majority of Civil Guards have behaved well and we have hope in your Majesties so that some of our requests in this letter come to fruition.

We believe from AEGC that these humble public servants should be provided with the means to work as safely as possible for both them and the citizens, so mainly individual bulletproof vests (not multi-property) with the most appropriate size possible, would be quite good to start, new vehicles to replace the obsolete fleet of vehicles due to their extensive mileage, intermediate neutralization weapons for the good of both the citizen and the Civil Guards, avoiding extremely painful court appearances for all parties.

We ask your Majesties to intercede with all the mayors of Spain, making them aware of the enormous human potential they have to safeguard the security of their municipal districts, to request the corresponding staff increases from the politicians in turn, do not ask the Civil Guard, this cow no longer gives more milk, we need about 10,000 Civil Guards and this is the first year that the replacement rate is covered, if they also improve as much as possible those barracks or obsolete facilities throughout Spain, it would be appreciated to work a little more comfortably.

In case your Majesties don't know, the Civil Guards had their salary reduced by 10% during the economic crisis (we don't believe it was due to poor performance since the Civil Guard has brilliant performances every day), the politicians say that we are already coming out of it, well a good demonstration would be the recovery of that money. In addition, a salary equalization with the rest of the Security Forces and Corps since the Civil Guards are the most affected in terms of salary, this is easily demonstrable.

We could not miss the opportunity to petition your Majesties for the non-application of the military penal code, we believe that we have a broad disciplinary regime in the Civil Guard to stop any act of indiscipline without having to punish a Civil Guard with imprisonment.

AEGC appreciates your majesties' time in reading this small letter of petition, you are the last people we can turn to, all the others have only given us good words but no solutions. We understand that it is not easy to fulfill all the requests, although we will wait with the same illusion that when we get up on January 6 we will have some of the requested gifts in our shoes.
