"To my brother Andrés:
How many beautiful memories come to my mind!
You passed through life in silence and left without bothering anyone.
How many times did you put me on your shoulders to take me for a walk or ride me on the seat of your bike?
There were countless nights that we sat with Mom to play cards by the light of the candle or lantern.
Those were happy times that I will never forget.
Always united without saying a bad word to your mother and sisters, willing to lend a hand to get us ahead and have a plate of food and what was necessary to go to school.
Although our father died at 33 and left 4 children, I was 5 months old, we never lacked anything, because she made sure that was the case.
We lived in a happy home, where there was a lot of love and affection.
I remember you telling Mom that you would peel the potatoes and put the food in the kitchen, while she made popcorn.
When you were older and started the bakery, you would come very early to leave us bread with the bag hanging on the door.
You started working as a child in jobs that were very hard for you.
Sometimes in Tenerife and others in La Palma, but you always sent me a paper peseta in the letters you wrote to Mom.
Then when you came you gave me money to go to the cinema, near the house.
I know you are with your parents very happy, because you deserve it, for so much goodness that the three of you had."
Sincerely, your sister Susi
