Appearances are deceiving

It may be a much-discussed topic, but it is what we live. Social networks are a very powerful tool, which allows dissemination to levels hitherto unknown, an inevitable production of information (mainly benefiting large industries, of course), allows us to access a greater amount of information, and in that way we learn or know much more about our environment. Always keeping in mind that, just like when we watched TV as children and extraordinary things happened, you can't believe everything you read or see.

That's why I want to talk about a specific topic in this great social universe. APPEARANCES ARE DECEIVING. I often wander around in my Instagram explore, all I see are people trying to bring out the best physical side of themselves. I have never criticized this nor do I plan to do so, because for example, Instagram is a network that is based on image. But what I would like to reflect on is, to what extent do these publications make us believe, know or know about a person's life? Well, as most young people today know, not everything is what it seems to be. Even so, we always want to live the life of influencers, stock up on gifts from big brands, exotic trips, stunning bodies and movie photos. But behind all that, what is hidden?

I am nobody to be able to talk firsthand about this topic, but I can contribute my point of view. And from the perspective of a person with a normal average of followers, who uploads photos with her friends, who likes to look good in photos and have a few "likes", I venture to say that I don't think that all those users we see on the internet are even 20% of what that person really is.

We cannot forget that we all come from the same place, we come from a home, all different, but from ties and a territory, we all have a load of nature with us that is very difficult to forget. And it is that those people were not born influencers.

We always talk about influencers as if we really knew who they are, but you only know a couple of videos and their photographs. So, why do we criticize this facet of Instagram so much? Most of the success of these people comes thanks to us, so yes, you can already feel like part of their success, because you are. But above all, if we don't know those users, why criticize their success, it doesn't make any sense. You can't know them enough to complain about being less intelligent, handsome or rich than you.

Enough of our hypocrisy, like all the actors we see and admire, like all the singers whose melodies we always hum, welcome to our world. Today, being successful does not mean being a child prodigy with incredible talent, it means moving your future forward with the tools you have in your power. And if those people have gotten there, they must have worked on something, just like whoever wants something, something costs them, I don't think that rule doesn't apply to them.

After this, I read it again, and yes, I admit that even I myself have fallen into the trap of criticizing some users that I see on Instagram. But I try to mature, I try to give importance to what is important, and I don't think that continuing with that attitude is the best way. So let's stop now, be happy if your neighbor receives five million visits on YouTube, be happy if your classmate has been given a pair of boots for doing propaganda on her Instagram. You are not losing anything there, and if your dream is to live the life of those people and it is what you really like, go for it without fear of the "haters" who will come behind discrediting your work. Well, like any journalist, representative, actress or whatever, it takes time and has its reward, because if it weren't like that, nobody would invest there.
