The mayor of Yaiza, Óscar Noda, has decided to postpone the celebration of the debate and initial approval of the Municipal Budget 2024 for next week, presumably on Tuesday, "and thus there is no excuse to argue lack of time for its study", as publicly argued by one of the three opposition parties, the PP. "After the initial approval, any political force also has fifteen business days to present amendments," adds Óscar Noda.
The extraordinary Plenary session that was to be held this Thursday was convened on Tuesday at 7:32 in the morning, with two days' notice, "enough time for its analysis, especially if it involves two released councilors, one as a non-elected advisor to the Cabildo of Lanzarote and the other as an advisor to the capital Arrecife, who will also have more time to study the file for the creation of 10 new taxi licenses and the bases for their concession that we will definitively approve".
On the other hand, the mayor recalls that "the Yaiza City Council is recognized for its good financial economic management and we have nothing to hide. Our accounts are healthy and we are the most investing local Administration in Lanzarote, so the numbers and the facts speak for themselves".
The municipal government confirms that it will maintain the informative meeting with the media about the Budget scheduled for this Friday, January 5, in Puerto Calero. Finally, the mayor emphasizes that "this decision to postpone the Plenary contradicts any malicious indication of alleged dictatorial attitudes by the Yaiza government group, which we have never had because it is not our way of being or working".
