The president of the Chamber of Commerce of Lanzarote and La Graciosa, José Valle, has concluded this week his round of institutional meetings with the seven town councils of the island to present the Economic, Social and Sustainable Activation Plan for Lanzarote and La Graciosa. The last of these meetings took place yesterday with the Arrecife Town Council, thus closing a schedule of meetings held over the past three weeks.
In this period, the President of the Chamber has met with the municipal leaders of **Haría, Tinajo, Tías, Yaiza, San Bartolomé, Teguise, and Arrecife**, in working meetings where the content of the Plan has been presented and each town hall has been given a physical copy of the document
Institutional Coordination and Supramunicipal Vision
During the meetings, the mayors conveyed to the Chamber various **proposals and reflections**, many of them coinciding, regarding the need to strengthen **coordination with the Cabildo** of Lanzarote to address supramunicipal actions or those of an entity that exceeds the management capabilities of the municipalities themselves.
In this context, the president of the Chamber of Commerce, José Valle, highlighted that “the Activation Plan reinforces the Chamber's role as a unifying agent for public-private collaboration in Lanzarote and La Graciosa, facilitating a space for coordination between city councils, the Cabildo, and the business sector to promote strategic island-wide projects”.
Regarding this, the importance of having a shared **strategic planning** was highlighted, which allows common challenges to be faced from an island perspective, optimizing resources and aligning efforts among the different administrations
A living document at the service of municipalities
The meetings also served to define specific action priorities for each municipality. The Chamber of Commerce has asked municipal officials to analyze the Activation Plan and propose any adjustments, contributions, or improvements they deem appropriate, emphasizing the dynamic and open nature of this strategic document.
Likewise, town councils have been encouraged to rely on the Plan as a reference tool for the definition and implementation of relevant projects, thereby reinforcing public-private collaboration and joint work between administrations for the benefit of the economic, social, and sustainable development of Lanzarote and La Graciosa
