The Yaiza City Council paid a total of 831,000 euros to companies and self-employed workers in August for works, services and supplies. The City Council affirms that it maintains its established program of two monthly payments to suppliers, which also entails that the payment of the amount of the invoices is made effective in less than ten days from their registration.

“We are pleased that the Island's own entrepreneurs tell us that Yaiza is the most compliant institution in Lanzarote because all of us, administrations and citizens, are moving in a delicate economic scenario since the pandemic where it is more than necessary to fulfill our obligations and inject liquidity if we want to help preserve employment and promote consumption, always from our perspective of investing in initiatives of general interest,” said the mayor, Óscar Noda.

He also announced that “new projects have already been awarded to invest 3 million euros more in the towns of Puerto Calero, Yaiza and Playa Blanca as part of the actions that give continuity to the municipal plan to improve road infrastructure". "We are awaiting the contribution of the mandatory documentation by the concessionary companies to sign the contracts,” he specified.

The mayor highlights that “the Yaiza City Council maintains its investment rate, has broad credibility among suppliers, has been one of the few city councils capable of approving its budget and maintains its financial debt at zero.”
