The Yaiza City Council invites you to the workshop Detection and prevention of suicidal behavior to be taught by the renowned educational psychologist Calixto Herrera Rodríguez next Monday, March 17, from 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m., at CEIP Playa Blanca.
The Institution chaired by Óscar Noda thus develops the second day of the Educar en Familia 2025 program with the aim of offering citizens training that allows families to better understand important aspects that help the education of sons and daughters from a professional perspective.
Admission is free and to participate you just have to register in the Social Services Area by calling 928836834.
The Educar en Familia program is an initiative resulting from the collaboration between the Yaiza City Council and the Ministry of Education, Vocational Training, Physical Activity and Sports of the Government of the Canary Islands, which not only favors family monitoring of the integral development of children and young people, but also contributes to the integration of mothers and fathers in the life of educational centers.
“The themes of the workshops respond to the coordinated work between municipal services, schools and associations of mothers and fathers, to the needs detected by all social agents, so in practice we have a more community and participatory approach to education,” says Óscar Noda.
Educar en Familia invites a speaker of renown for the workshop Detection and prevention of suicidal behavior: Calixto Herrera Rodríguez works in the School Health Area of public education in the Canary Islands and last year was decorated by the Royal House with the Order of Civil Merit for the service provided to our society.
This native of Gran Canaria graduated in educational psychology from the University of Las Palmas de Gran Canaria and has four decades of experience dedicated to teaching, being the promoter of the project 'Caterpillars and Colored Butterflies on the desks of Our School', whose purpose is to face the difficult moments of adversity, loss, pain, suffering or death among all members of the educational community.
Upcoming Educar en Familia workshops
Yaiza has planned two new training days for April and May. The workshop Education in good coexistence and positive discipline, which will be held on April 7 at the CEO Playa Blanca, taught by Silvia de la Rosa Hernández, and Detection and prevention of bullying in our sons and daughters and improvement of educational coexistence, organized for May 19 at the CEIP Yaiza, which will also be taught by Silvia de la Rosa Hernández.
“We appreciate the interest of our educational community in the Educar en Familia program, since we had high participation in the first workshop on anxiety management held last February at the Uga school,” adds the Councilor for Social Services, César Rijo.
