The Yaiza City Council is conducting a survey among its youngest residents in order to promote cultural activities and projects where they are participants and beneficiaries. For the development of this research, with a presence in all the towns of the municipality, the institution has incorporated five monitors hired through the NOE (New Employment Opportunities), the employment plan for people in a situation of unemployment to which Yaiza has joined, taking advantage of co-financing from the Autonomous Community of the Canary Islands and the European Union.
The mayor of Yaiza, Óscar Noda, highlights that "in addition to addressing the demands of our youngest population, this research is an exercise in citizen participation that allows us to verify what the priorities of the young people of the municipality are in order to act accordingly."
The Yaiza Youth Area, directed by Daniel Medina, intends, in the words of the councilor, "to create meeting opportunities and new spaces for experiences, highlighting the multiculturalism of our municipality." "It is about developing inclusive initiatives that help guide young people, reinforcing the work that the City Council carries out in classrooms with coexistence and emotional management programs, which, due to the pandemic, have had to be suspended during the last year," he adds.

"We have the obligation to motivate young people in a difficult moment that demands, and a lot, the involvement of all agents of society," adds the councilman.
In addition to the survey, the team of five monitors assigned to Youth will work on initiatives of common interest to be developed in the cultural centers of the municipality and outdoor spaces.
