The Yaiza City Council celebrates World Tourism Day next Saturday, September 25, at Playa Dorada, in the tourist town of Playa Blanca. The event will be outdoors, where from 8:00 p.m. it is planned "an act of exaltation of the most important productive activity of the municipality", with a distinction to Naviera Armas within the extensive commemorative program Yaiza Historical City.

Ángel Domínguez, Councilor for Tourism, advances "the performance of the Lanzarote Classical Orchestra, interpreting soundtracks of renowned films in the history of cinema." In addition, the event will be decorated with the presentation of the soprano Judith Pezoa from Gran Canaria.

Previously, at 6:00 p.m., behind the Plaza de La Alameda in the town of Yaiza, the City Council will honor "the 80 years of business career of Naviera Armas". This will be done "by labeling the Plazoleta El Rincón with the name of the Naviera", a public space located near the birthplace of Don Antonio Armas Curbelo, born in Yaiza in 1899, who was the founder of Naviera Armas.
