Municipal workers are carrying out heritage conservation work this week at the Benito Pérez Armas House of Culture in Yaiza. These works specifically consist of repairing the balcony and stairs located in the patio of the emblematic building, although the intervention in the exhibition halls to prevent deterioration of their walls is also noteworthy.

The Councilor for Heritage, Óscar Noda, explains that the institution is replacing the balcony and stairs with the "approval" of the Heritage Area of the Cabildo of Lanzarote, which collaborates in the project by providing the necessary wood to complete the work. Noda also reports on the intervention in the exhibition halls, where hanging anchors have already been installed to support pictorial or sculptural works and thus "avoid the deterioration that the walls could suffer with tacks or nails", they explain from the City Council.
The Benito Pérez Armas House of Culture is the epicenter of exhibitions, concerts, scientific conferences, workshops, talks and a large part of the wide educational and cultural offer developed by the southern City Council. With this intervention, the Consortium continues with its program of "improvements and conservation of public buildings".
