The Yaiza City Council awarded Iberdrola Clientes SAU this past Wednesday the supply of electrical energy for the partial plans of the municipality and the municipal facilities.

Thus, said award also includes the compensation of energy surpluses from photovoltaic installations for self-consumption connected to municipal dependencies.

The price of energy has been the determining factor in the resolution of the public tender where up to three marketing companies were presented. Depending on the sections, Yaiza will pay Iberdrola a minimum of 0.15 cents per kilowatt/hour and a maximum of 0.25 kilowatt/hour.

For its part, the company will compensate the energy generated by the municipal photovoltaic plants, estimating a value of 0.07 euros per kilowatt/hour produced. And as an improvement proposal, the Yaiza City Council secures two medium charge points of 22 kilowatts for electric vehicles in Playa Blanca.

The contracting of the electricity supply for public lighting foresees the urban areas of Costa Papagayo, Playa Blanca partial plan, San Marcial del Rubicón, Las Coloradas and Castillo del Águila, all located in Playa Blanca.
