The Department of Energy of the Cabildo of Lanzarote, directed by Miguel Ángel Jiménez, has awarded the contract to renovate the lighting in the town of Conil (Tías). “This work will meet the objectives of the National Integrated Energy and Climate Plan, eliminating the current luminaires to install low-consumption LEDs,” emphasizes the head of the Energy area, Miguel Ángel Jiménez.

The work has been awarded to the company Instalaciones Eléctricas Conejeras SL, for a total amount that amounts to 957,063.60 euros and an execution period of nine months.

The purpose of the planned action is to renovate, and expand, the existing public lighting in the town. For this, a total of 279 simple light points will be installed, so that adequate lighting levels are achieved for the different types of roads.

The project “Improvement of energy efficiency and Renovation of public lighting in the population center of Conil” is financed by the Canary Islands Development Funds (FDCAN).

The Minister of Public Works, Jacobo Medina, as coordinator of the area that manages these funds, considers that it is “a necessary work for the town, which will soon see how it has modern and environmentally friendly lighting.”
