VU denounces that the General Plan again "leaves out" homes in Altavista, Tenorio and Camino de Güime

Vecinos Unidos has denounced that the new draft of the Arrecife General Plan once again leaves out of order homes in Altavista, Tenorio and Camino de Güime "despite the promises to the contrary of the Deputy Minister of Territorial Policy of the Canary Islands Government." Regarding the area of Las Vírgenes de Argana Alta, they point out from the party that "everything will be in the hands of a private Action Unit, with the consequent economic cost for the residents."

In the case of Bilbao, Vizcaya, Álava and Vitoria streets, in the Arrecife neighborhood of Altavista, Vecinos Unidos affirms that the GESPLAN drafters confirmed to them, during the meeting held on February 8 at the Chamber of Commerce, that "said homes are excluded from the planning", putting as the only argument that a public access road to the houses was not accredited, since the only paved road "is privately owned.

"Regarding the old Camino Real, still unpaved, they allege that the City Council does not have a deed for it", they add from the party, from where they point out that thus, "all the houses, with more than 50 years built and with all the services, would be at the expense of the development of a Partial Plan" in which, according to what they confessed, "they would end up buying the houses, compensating the residents for the land".

They criticize that industrial buildings are legalized "with a stroke of the pen" and not the houses

Regarding San Sebastián and Guipúzcoa streets, in the Tenorio area, according to Vecinos Unidos "exactly the same thing happens." "The opposite of the numerous illegal warehouses in the place, which are converted into Consolidated Urban Land with a stroke of the pen. With which, all residential homes (more than 50 years built) are at the expense of the development of an industrial land, with the consequent costs", they question from the formation.

The third group of homes is located in the area known as Camino de Güime (divided into the nuclei of La Calera and Los Ancones). "Here the drafters of the new General Plan assured us that through the council the area would be contemplated in ‘territorial category’, keeping the land in consolidation, not being affected by demolition files until a future in which they could be consolidated by prescription of the files. However, they would continue outside the consolidated urban planning", they assure from Vecinos Unidos.

The homes of Las Vírgenes, included in an Action Unit

Finally, regarding the homes of Las Vírgenes, in Argana Alta, they point out that "they are included in Action Unit 20, which can be expanded with the parameters of Homogeneous Zone 8". "But it has to be with private initiative. That is, the residents must hire an architect to carry out a Partial Plan, which will then be delivered to the city council to approve the project. With the consequent economic outlay for such humble families!", they conclude.
