The General Union of Workers has given the first data on the follow-up of the strike in Lanzarote, stating that there have been "acceptable" rates of participation "in the main sectors of the island", although they add that "the percentage is uneven depending on the sectors".
According to the union itself, the follow-up of the strike in Health has been only 15 percent in the morning shift, while in Education, "around 30% of teachers have supported the strike today in Lanzarote". Pending knowing the data of the administration, UGT also speaks of only 10 percent follow-up of the strike among the officials of the Tahíche prison.
With respect to the City Councils, the most significant stoppage according to UGT has been that of the Tías City Council, "where 95 percent have not attended their jobs". In the Cabildo of Lanzarote, the City Council of Haría and in that of Arrecife, UGT maintains that "the follow-up of the strike is around 50 percent", while in Teguise, San Bartolomé and Yaiza "it is close to 20 percent".
In the industrial sector, "the minimum services are being met" in the Endesa plant, according to the union, while in the hotel industry it assures that the stoppages in the large hotel chains "reach 50 percent".
