The Tinajo City Council has started depositing the transportation grants for students of the municipality corresponding to the academic year 2019-2020. The total amount to be deposited is 47,000 euros and will reach 140 students of the municipality enrolled in the modalities of baccalaureate, training cycles and university studies, both on the island and outside of it, and who have increased this year.

For the mayor of the municipality, Jesús Machín, “it is good news, especially in the circumstances that many families in Tinajo are going through, that we can already deposit the transportation grants for students. Despite the complicated economic situation that all city councils are going through as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic, with much less income than we had planned - we will receive 54 percent less due to the cuts in the autonomous community of the Canary Islands - the Tinajo City Council has not only already deposited the transportation grants for students of the municipality, but has also significantly increased the amount of the same, reaching almost 17 percent increase.”

Although this payment arrives when the next course is already beginning, Machín is "pleased" that “140 students of the municipality can now have these financial aid to finance their transfers, a relief for many families who are having such a bad time on these dates.”

The Tinajo City Council informs that applications for transportation grants for students of the municipality corresponding to the academic year 2020-2021 may be made from the month of January of next year, a matter that the council will report promptly.
