The Tías City Council will install two special containers fully equipped as portable gyms so that sports clubs can use them in their training, led by their physical trainers. One will be placed in the Tías Sports Center (next to the Francisco Bermúdez Hernández soccer field “Pancho”) and the second, in the Manuel Arrocha García soccer field, Puerto del Carmen.
The City Council has put out to tender the contracting of the “supply of two fully equipped fitness containers for carrying out sports activities in the municipality of Tías” with a base bidding budget that amounts to 63,879 euros, including taxes. Proposals can be submitted until June 27.
The mayor of Tías, José Juan Cruz, states that “we are taking a further step in improving the sports infrastructure of the municipality, opting for innovative and versatile solutions that adapt to the needs of our athletes and coaches. These containers will allow us to expand and diversify training spaces, both for sports clubs and for future outdoor activities.”
The Councilor for Sports, Ismael Cruz, specifies that “the objective is to continue promoting sports practice among the population, facilitating access to modern and functional equipment, and creating environments that motivate our athletes to stay active and committed to sports.”
These sports cubicles are portable gyms prepared from adapted shipping containers that are designed to offer functional and outdoor training spaces. They can be equipped with sports equipment both inside and in their structure, incorporating equipment such as bars, dumbbells, kettlebells, TRX and other elements for functional training.
