Tías tenders the renovation of Masdache lighting for more than one million euros

The objective is to guarantee adequate lighting on public roads as well as adaptation to regulations regarding public lighting and energy saving in accordance with regulations.

The Tías City Council has put out to tender the project for the renovation and remodeling of public lighting in Masdache with a base bidding budget with taxes of 1,209,662.36 euros. Interested companies can submit offers electronically until July 2.

The explanatory report of the project, which belongs to the Municipal Cooperation Plan of the Cabildo de Lanzarote, explains that the remodeling and renovation of public lighting in the Masdache nucleus responds to objectives related to guaranteeing adequate lighting on public roads as well as adaptation to regulations regarding public lighting and energy saving in accordance with regulations.

It adds that by replacing obsolete luminaires with low-consumption LED technology, in accordance with regulations on energy efficiency, improvements in efficiency and sustainability are obtained and maintenance costs are reduced, thus reducing breakdowns and optimizing costs in corrective and preventive maintenance.

The mayor of Tías, José Juan Cruz, emphasizes the council's efforts in energy matters, since last year improvements were already completed in public lighting with Conil, La Asomada and Puerto del Carmen. More than 2.7 million euros were invested, including solar lights in the CEIP La Asomada-Mácher and on rural roads, as well as the expanded projects in Conil and La Asomada.

This year, 2025, the installation of a new interior lighting system for the Tías Municipal Pavilion was awarded, which is part of its adaptation initiated in 2022, in January the renovation of public lighting began in the streets of the Los Pocillos area (France, Switzerland, Iceland, Hungary...) and at this time the works to improve the exterior lighting of Avenida de la Playas are being carried out, in the section that goes from Plaza de Las Naciones to Matagorda.
