The Tías City Council informs that the re-asphalting works have been completed on different sections of roads in the municipality, carried out by the company linked to Red Eléctrica de España (REE) for the installation of the future power line between Mácher and Playa Blanca.
The sections with 2,200 linear meters of new asphalt correspond to the Los Olivos road, Barranco road through La Vegueta, Lomo Martín road and Guardilama road, as the high-voltage power line has been buried as it passes through the town of Mácher.
The REE project is 17 kilometers in a double circuit of 132 kV. This double circuit will allow energy to circulate through two lines that exceed the transport capacity of the original. According to Red Eléctrica, if any incident occurs in one of them, the other would act as an alternative path.
The mayor of Tías, José Juan Cruz, expresses his satisfaction with the completion of the re-asphalting works and recalls that the City Council "will always defend improvements to those infrastructures that benefit citizens and do not have an impact on the environment."
The project, called Underground overhead line at 132 kV double circuit Nueva SE 132 kV Mácher – Nueva SE 132 kV Playa Blanca, contemplates in the municipality of Tías an aerial section of 2,014 linear meters. When it is finished, the six power line towers and overhead cables that currently pass through Mácher will have disappeared.
