The Department of Roads and Works of the Tías City Council in collaboration with the team of the Training Program in Alternation with Employment (PFAE) Construyendo Futuro III are carrying out improvement works in the municipality's schools in preparation for the start of the new school year.
According to a press release from the council, the schools of Tías, Puerto del Carmen and La Asomada-Mácher are being conditioned.
The mayor of Tías, José Juan Cruz, and the councilor of Education, Miriam Hernández, emphasize the importance of carrying out these maintenance works on the educational facilities of the municipality.
“We respond to the requests of the management teams of the schools, who monitor the state of the centers, and we attend to the needs of schoolchildren, teachers and other workers in the sector”, says Hernández.
In the Infant and Primary Education Center (CEIP) La Asomada-Mácher, two new doors were installed, while in the CEIP Concepción Rodríguez Artiles, Puerto del Carmen, a wall is being erected on its north face to reinforce the security of the center.
In addition to this enclosure, the classrooms, hallways and facade are being painted, a pergola was renovated and a lawn area and benches will be created in the backyard. In the center of Puerto del Carmen, a bathroom was also renovated with new faucets and tiling.
In the CEIP Alcalde Rafael Cedrés, Tías, the exterior and exterior of its facilities are being painted, already finishing with the last classrooms. The pergolas and wooden benches were also painted, the tiles of the music class and the Enclave classroom were placed and the porter's room was finished.
Likewise, in this school a new water canalization was carried out due to the poor condition of the existing pipes, which suffered constant losses, the hydro was repaired and its room was cleaned up, the sink was placed in the nursing space and work was done on the irrigation of gardens and review of large palm trees. The works continue so that the start of the school year in September takes effect without setbacks.
