The works to finish the San Bartolomé picnic area and the rehabilitation of the exteriors of the Casa Mayor Guerra have begun this Wednesday. María Dolores Corujo, mayor of San Bartolomé, the Island Council councilor, Andrés Stinga, the Councilor for Works, Alexis Tejera, the Councilor for Urban Planning, David Rocío and the Councilor for Social Welfare, Yésica Pérez, have visited the works of this project, financed with funds from the Island Council that correspond to the municipal collaboration plans.
The work will have an estimated execution period of two and a half months, after which "it will be possible to continue with the plan to recover and beautify the public spaces of the municipality", the City Council points out. In addition, it points out that it is preparing an improvement project in that space, specifically in the palm grove area, in the vicinity of the Casa Mayor Guerra, where a leisure and sports area integrated into the environment will be installed. "This work aims to continue implementing a line of work aimed at enabling public spaces for the enjoyment of the residents of the municipality", says Corujo.
According to the City Council, the picnic area will have barbecue areas, a wood oven, bathrooms, a storage area and a Canarian ball court. In the Casa Mayor Guerra, its exterior will be painted and the wooden carpentry in poor condition will be repaired, including the balcony of this building.
"The Department of Public Works of the Island Council is working to unblock all those commitments acquired with the different City Councils, which in the case of San Bartolomé, not only affects the Casa Mayor Guerra, but also other projects for prompt execution such as the Polvorín road or the completion of the courts of the Playa Honda Civic Center", Stinga points out.
