The Arrecife City Council, through the Department of Education, has awarded the reform, improvement and expansion works that will be carried out this summer in ten Infant and Primary Education centers in the capital of Lanzarote. The works will be mainly aimed at painting, making railings and gates, enclosing playgrounds, improving bathrooms, expanding and modifying classrooms, improving access with ramps and stairs, placing floors and tiles, or repairing drinking fountains and water pipes. Among the most important projects, it should be noted that the school cafeteria project has been commissioned at the CEIP Los Geranios.
To carry out these plans, an investment of approximately 182,000 euros will be made. To this we must add that since the beginning of the year and to date, more than 46,000 euros have been invested in small maintenance works in the different schools and in the second phase of the school cafeteria that is currently being carried out at the CEIP Sanjurjo Maneje. Regarding the upcoming actions, the area councilor, Carmelo García, highlighted that after the summer "it is intended to continue carrying out works mainly related to the waterproofing of roofs."
