The strike day has started almost without incidents in Lanzarote and transportation is operating with relative normality. At the airport, which being a Wednesday had fewer operations planned, flights are departing without problems, although announcements are being made to passengers over the loudspeakers warning that there could be some delay.

Regarding the port of Arrecife, the secretary of CCOO in Lanzarote, Vicky Sande, assured early this morning that one hundred percent of the workers had supported the strike and that it had been decided to divert a large cruise ship that was due to dock on the island this Wednesday. However, a representative of the stevedores later denied this information, assuring that the port is operating "normally", despite the strong presence of pickets, and that the planned ships were docking: both the cruise ship "Aida Bella" and another Naviera Armas ship.

For its part, the taxi sector has also decided in a majority way not to support the strike, so they are providing service from early in the morning.

As for the roads, until 9 a.m. there had been no incidents or road closures. In addition, from the Arrecife bus terminal they also assured that the service is operating at one hundred percent, although "a lower influx of passengers is noticeable".
