A crowd welcomed Gaspar, Melchior, and Balthazar on the eve of Epiphany, during their visit to the center of Tías and the tourist town of Puerto del Carmen. The Three Kings Parade, organized by the Department of Festivities of the Tías City Council, ensured that thousands of children, together with their families, enjoyed this parade where Their Majesties arrived from the East accompanied by movie and television characters that excite the little ones in the house.
The Tías Parade, enlivened with the Charanga Los Gruñones de Tías and batucadas, departed punctually at 6:00 p.m. from the roundabout in front of the La Casona Restaurant. From that place, the parade ran along the Central Avenue of Tías Alcalde Florencio Suárez, and Libertad and La Luchada Streets until the entourage reached the interior of the Tías Municipal Sports Center so that the children of Tías could deliver their letters to the Kings Melchior, Gaspar and Balthazar. Their Majesties, in a crowded sports center decorated with games and attractions for the children, received thousands of letters requesting their longed-for Kings' gifts. The central parade of Tías included the participation of several floats set in children's movie and TV characters. The presence of Beauty and the Beast delighted the little ones, who approached these characters to take souvenir photos.
Puerto del Carmen Parade
On the eve of the most special day for families with children, the Three Kings, after being in Tíñosa, continued to the other Parade of La Tiñosa and Puerto del Carmen for their meeting with the little ones in a crowded Plaza de El Varadero. The Puerto del Carmen parade departed at 7:30 p.m. from the end of Teide street to the port of La Tiñosa and its parade along Avenida de Las Playas. The mayor of Tías, Pancho Hernández, was present at the Tías Parade where he welcomed Their Majesties as they passed through the area where the Tías City Council headquarters is located. The Councilor for Festivities of Tías, Francisco Javier Aparicio, who was characterized as a Page of the Three Kings, highlighted the excellent organization and fluidity of both parades where about a ton of candies were distributed, a thousand kilos of sweets that achieved the sweet spot for the children before receiving the requested gifts in their homes.
For his part, the deputy mayor and councilor for Tourism and Culture of the Tías City Council, Amado Jesús Vizcaíno, was present at the Parade developed by the Tías City Council in the main tourist area of Lanzarote.
