This Thursday, December 16, the mayor of Teguise, Juan Pedro Hernández, accompanied by the Island Director of the General State Administration, Orlando Suárez, and the Island Director of Education, Juan Cruz, as well as other authorities, inaugurated the La Villa "Lola" Children's School. The center has been operating for a week with 30 children.
The provision has had a construction cost of 647,000 euros and 70,000 euros of endowment. It is created on an area of 682 square meters. The architecture is developed on a single floor for functionality and so that it does not clash with the architecture of the place and the island in general. The building was directed by the architect Martín Martín, together with the municipal technicians, and was executed by the construction company Ajei.
The new service is deployed in three different blocks. One, for administration, entrance and warehouses; the second, kitchen, dining room and toilets; and the third, the classrooms, with their respective services and bedrooms. In total, four classrooms with different capacities depending on the age of the children, which can accommodate up to 49 children.
This municipal infrastructure is managed by two technicians, two assistants, an early childhood education technician, as specified by the Ministry of Education, and a cleaner. Two of these people belonged to the old nursery.
