"Due to the rules and precautions that must be observed in the process of normalizing activity, it will be an essential requirement to request an appointment to use the service and rigorous control will be maintained of the people who access the facilities to prevent the permitted capacity from being exceeded," they explain from the Corporation.
As part of the protection measures, a temperature control will be carried out, masks will be distributed and disinfectant gel dispensers will be available.
The president of the Cabildo, María Dolores Corujo, explained that the capacity limitation and the need for an appointment have led to the establishment of the new schedule, "because in these circumstances the service has to be available so that people who require it do not suffer long delays."
"The Cabildo must live up to the needs of the people and we must start by being available and reducing waiting times. It is impossible to face an emergency on a schedule from 8 to 3," he said.
"Staggered" opening of the rest of the departments
Corujo explained that this is the first step in the reopening of the Cabildo's services and clarified that it will be done in a staggered manner, "so that the incidents that arise in this process of building a new normality can be resolved."
"We have given priority to the Social Welfare Area. Despite the good results of telematic management during the first phase of confinement, we know that face-to-face attention is irreplaceable in many cases," explained the president.
"We are going to prioritize the safety of users and administration personnel, guaranteeing that the instructions of the health authorities are respected. We cannot afford a single step backwards and that is why I insist once again on demanding prudence and responsibility," he concluded.
