The Yaiza City Council, presided over by Óscar Noda, is opening a public tender procedure for the urban rehabilitation project of Avenida de Papagayo, in the section between the
Parish of Nuestra Señora del Carmen and the Action Unit 1 (Ciudad Jardín roundabout), in Playa Blanca.

With a base bidding budget of 3.3 million euros, it has an execution period of nine months and a period for submitting offers, through the State Contracting Platform where the official announcement with the corresponding specifications is already published, which expires at 2:30 p.m. on August 11.

The purpose of the project is the execution of the necessary works for the integral rehabilitation of Avenida de Papagayo, one of the main access and transit routes of Playa Blanca, whose structural and functional deterioration requires a complete action.

The main planned actions include the renovation of the pavement and sidewalks, guaranteeing universal accessibility by eliminating architectural barriers; the installation of new low-consumption luminaires, optimizing energy efficiency and improving the safety of the environment; the creation of two new surface parking areas, in order to facilitate the organization and expand the availability of parking spaces; the implementation of vertical and horizontal signage; as well as the installation of street furniture and the conditioning of green areas.

The mayor of Yaiza, Óscar Noda, emphasizes that "this is a priority action, since it is a main road that is very deteriorated due to the significant load of vehicular and pedestrian traffic it supports, and with which we will improve mobility, accessibility and the urban image of a key tourist environment for the municipality, responding at the same time to the parking deficit in the area caused by the increase in tourism and urban development. This project will mean a significant improvement for residents, visitors and the commercial fabric of the tourist town."

The contract contemplates a guarantee period of two years after the completion of the works and the intervention is not divided into lots as it is a work that requires comprehensive technical coordination.
