The PSOE of Teguise has shown its "perplexity" at a new delay in the modification of the General Plan of the municipality and has warned that it could lead to the paralysis of the bike lane works being carried out by the Cabildo to connect the port of Los Mármoles with the Salinas hotel, specifically in the Las Caletas-Costa Teguise section.

The socialist spokesperson in the City Council, Marcos Bergaz, recalls that on March 8, the provisional ordinance that will modify the planning was initially approved, but it needs to be published in the bulletin and its processing concluded. "Otherwise, the Cabildo will not be able to continue the works in the Las Caletas–Costa Teguise section, in an action that has been pending Teguise's review of its planning since 2016", he warns.

Marcos Bergaz, who visited the area together with Councilor Benito Rodríguez, recalls that the government group took it to the plenary session "as a matter of urgency, without a prior informative commission, with a file of almost a thousand pages and appealing to the extreme need to approve it.”

“We supported it because it was extremely urgent, but we see that a month later they have still not published the provisional ordinance that should be released for public display in the bulletin, which will delay its necessary final approval and compromise the continuity of the works,” says the socialist spokesperson.

“These are the rushes that are given with a strategic action”, lament from the socialist ranks. “We already warned that we hoped they would not get distracted and give the highest priority to this matter, but once again they are delaying it,” added Benito Rodríguez.

"We do not want another work to be paralyzed in Teguise, as has happened with the Castle of Santa Bárbara or the Costa Teguise football field, so we remind the government of Oswaldo Betancort of the imperative need to immediately publish the ordinance and carry out the rest of the procedures that prevent when the machines arrive at the section located in our municipality, an action that has been waiting since 2016 by this government is paralyzed,” they demand from the PSOE.
