The socialist party in Arrecife has approved this Tuesday the candidacy led by Alfredo Mendonza. "We are 25 incumbents on the list and three alternates. In total 28 people who have to run in the next elections in May," says Mendonza.

"The truth is that I am very happy with the list that was ratified by the Assembly in conjunction with the Local Committee of Arrecife of the Socialist Party. We are very excited, there are many new faces, party members and an independent. But the vast majority are members who have been participating in the organic life of the party for many years and to whom I have to thank for having taken a step forward," explains the number one on the list.

Among the women who appear on the list is "Cristina Duque, who knows that we have been battling in this legislature and has acquired an experience that for us is vital in the next legislature. We already know very well the administration, the City Council from within and what are the needs of our municipality. There is also Elena López, who is also a lawyer and has been a member of the PSOE for many years. She arrived militating in Arrecife and in her day was a candidate for Yaiza, prior to the candidate Carmen Guadalupe. And then there is number 6, Carmen Iglesias, who currently has a job in Correos," says Mendonza.

"As for men, Roy González will accompany me on this list at number three, and then José Antonio González, who is the general secretary of Youth and has been in the PSOE since he was a child, and Omar Lemes, was also going to come. This Wednesday, what is due is to ratify that list in the superior committee, which is the Insular one because what was voted this Tuesday also in the Assembly was the ratification of the list. In the Insular Committee is more or less where we are going to order the list according to the results that have been obtained, but more or less it is designed in this way," says Mendoza.

One of the novelties is that the councilman Carlos Alférez, former of San Borondón, enters as the only independent on the list. "I think he is a fundamental piece within the list because he has a social activity from his association Acciones Unidas, where he has done a fabulous job with the immigrant community in Arrecife," says the number one on the list.

"The proposals of the City Council of Arrecife to the Cabildo are Benjamín Perdomo, Ariagona González and Celeste Callero, apart from other colleagues such as Andrés Stinga or Alberto Aguiar, who have also competed in these elections in the Local Committee of Arrecife. Being islanders, they had the option of also presenting their option and their candidacy to the Cabildo. And as for the Parliament, we would be accompanied by three women, in this case from the PSOE, who are Rosa Callero, Alicia Pérez and Lucía Olga Tejera, apart from the colleague María Dolores Corujo and Marcos Bergaz and Marcos Hernández, who were also submitted to a vote by the Assembly of Arrecife," concludes Mendoza.
