The PSOE of Teguise has proposed that, if it governs after the elections of May 28, it will create an urban park on the Tahíche plot. The plot of land on which the work is planned was expropriated by the City Council led by Coalición Canaria for 3,073,817.99 euros, plus 484,315.7 euros in interest.

"Given the silence of Coalición Canaria, from the socialist group we inform the public about the well-known Tahíche case, a case in which the Justice condemned the City Council for bad faith and abuse of the right to expropriation of a piece of land in said locality," said Marcos Bergaz, socialist candidate for mayor.

"Leaving behind the opacity and way of managing this issue by the nationalist group, the truth is that land has been acquired for a millionaire amount, paid from the taxes of the citizens of Teguise, and we must facilitate the use and enjoyment of this space of more than 100,000 square meters," Bergaz pointed out.

"In this sense, we are committed to calling a contest of ideas that encourages the best professionals to outline proposals for its conversion into an urban park, respectful of the territory, natural values, regulations and the necessary citizen enjoyment of land that has cost us 3'5 million euros and has no known use," said the socialist candidate for mayor of Teguise.

"We want to obtain a social benefit from this plot of rustic land for which a fortune was paid, and correct the nonsense of the current government of Teguise that when we proposed in this mandate to promote its use and enjoyment by the residents, replied in full 'that there is no hurry to develop any project', in short," he lamented.

To conclude, Marcos Bergaz considers that "the municipality needs proposals for the future, and of course, creating a leisure and recreation area in this place due to its location, dimensions and characteristics, is one. We are committed to this if from May 28 we take the reins of Teguise, a municipality where much more can and should be done."
