The General Directorate of Emergencies, based on the prediction of the State Meteorological Agency, has declared the pre-alert for strong winds and poor sea conditions from 12:00 hours this Saturday in Lanzarote and La Graciosa.
The wind will blow from the moderate northeast with strong intervals and probable very strong gusts that may reach or exceed 60 - 80 kilometers per hour, especially in the interior area of the municipality of Yaiza. The pre-alert will also affect El Hierro, La Gomera, La Palma, Tenerife, Gran Canaria and Fuerteventura.
In addition, the Canary Islands Government has also activated at the same time on Saturday the pre-alert for adverse coastal phenomena that will mainly affect the north and east coast of Lanzarote, and also La Graciosa.
There will be strong swell with northwest groundswell with waves of 1 to 2 meters in height, and also south or southwest groundswell of 1 - 2 m in the western islands. This situation will also affect the rest of the islands of the archipelago.
