The PSOE of Teguise proposes to the next plenary session the "integral rehabilitation" of the historic sports court 'El Hoyo', due to the "absolute abandonment" that it continues to present. In the words of the socialist councilor Tana Reyes "it is sad to see the current state of this public facility in the heart of the royal and illustrious Villa de Teguise".
"Although we repeatedly told the then Government of the Canary Coalition in the previous term, our requests to improve the installation were met with the eternal triple E, "we are on it", of the Government, and after four years the deterioration continues", says Reyes.
Therefore, the Socialist Team of Teguise continues to raise its voice to "improve the conditions of the court with more history and tradition" in the historic center of La Villa: "it is time for an integral rehabilitation project that improves the surface for sports, its stands, bathrooms, furniture, spotlights and accessibility", says Reyes.
While its integral rehabilitation arrives: some minimums
The Socialist Group states that "until its integral rehabilitation arrives, at least some minimums must be undertaken." In this line, they urge the current Government Group formed by Canary Coalition (CC), Popular Party (PP) and Vox, to "adopt a series of conservation, maintenance and security measures, replacing the nets of the goals, which would prevent the balls from leaving the enclosure, specifically those located on the wall that borders Leandro Perdomo Spínola street", declares Reyes. She adds that "in the same way, clean the surface with some regularity and that a general painting of its walls is carried out".
And for security, as soon as possible, the councilor emphasizes "the urgent installation of a railing on the side of the court parallel to the stands, lest we suffer some misfortune". The indicated area presents a "significant unevenness" and "no matter how skilled the children are when playing, an accident that nobody wants could occur, obviously", the socialist remarks.
To finish, Tana Reyes proposes to the Government Group "to get to work with the project and financing of the integral rehabilitation charged to the budgets of 2024 or within the 'Municipal Cooperation Plans'; the minimums, with a little will, will be enough".
