The Socialist Party assures that the letter sent by Inés Rojas to the Government of the Canary Islands "was processed without absolutely counting" on the Councilor for Historical Heritage Carlos Espino, and that furthermore it was done "without any technical justification or legal report" to support it. They consider that this way of acting on the part of the president, "gives rise to justified suspicions", which are also intensified by the lack of an official response from the Government of the Canary Islands in which it clarifies the reasons that have led to the paralysis of the file to protect the surroundings of the Castle of San José.

The lack of communication has taken its toll on the Socialist Group of Lanzarote, which although it assures "to trust that this episode can be overcome within the current Government pact of the Cabildo", launches a warning because it warns that "it remains waiting for Inés Rojas to give citizens a satisfactory explanation of her actions in this matter".

For her part, Inés Rojas doubted Carlos Espino's lack of knowledge about the sending of the letter to the Government of the Canary Islands to leave the BIC declaration on the table. The president declared during the morning of this Friday that, the Councilor Espino, was present at the moment in which the allegations sent by the Port Authority of Las Palmas arrived at the Presidency, since they were in the course of a meeting with the drafting team of the Special Territorial Plan, which was also attended by the two vice-presidents of the Cabildo, Manuel Fajardo and Mario Pérez.

The president declared to have "the more than reasonable doubt" that at the moment in which she decided with the vice-presidents to send the communication to the regional government,"the councilor (of Historical Heritage) was also there, but maybe at that moment he had already left, but let's say if he has said that he knew absolutely nothing, then it will be so", although she then pointed out that she would be "surprised" if that were the case.

The PSC of Lanzarote recalls that the allegations presented by the Port Authority of Las Palmas, "had already been rejected", through a resolution issued by the Cabildo on July 18, thus contradicting the reason that led Inés Rojas to request the paralysis of the file of the Castle of San José and that was the detailed study of the allegations of the Port Authority that had arrived on July 31 at the Presidency.

Real reasons that have paralyzed the file

The Socialist Party complains about the lack of official communication from the Government of the Canary Islands in which it clarifies the reasons that have led to the paralysis of the file of the Castle of San José. This Friday Inés Rojas confirmed that no official note has arrived at the First Institution dealing with the reasons why the Governing Council left the issue on the table, but she also has pointed out that her letter was not the ultimate reason for said paralysis. "My writing was not absolutely necessary, because the Technical Secretariat found errors or difficulties in the file and did not send it to the Governing Council". The drafting of the file on the declaration of the BIC of the Castle of San José is the responsibility of the Historical Heritage area, therefore those "errors or difficulties" named by Rojas, would come from the Carlos Espino councilorship itself.

Allegations of the Port Authority of Las Palmas

Among the allegations sent by the Port Authority of Las Palmas and that are named in the letter that Inés Rojas sends to the Government of the Canary Islands, it is urged that the area of planned port expansion be excluded from the protection environment of the Castle of San José and it is requested that it be declared "explicitly that the protection of the real estate will not be an obstacle for the development of port activity in the Port of Arrecife". In addition, they want the land in the service area of the Port of Arrecife to be excluded from the limits of the BIC and its protection environment.
