The PSOE of Teguise informs in a press release of the intention of the Government of Coalición Canaria (CC), Partido Popular (PP) and Vox to request a loan for an amount of 3,150,000 euros to face the payment of different millionaire sentences for judgments that force the expropriation of various pieces of land in the municipality.
Thus, this Wednesday the Teguise government has called an extraordinary and urgent plenary session to modify the current extended budget of 2022 and enable the formalization of a credit operation for this purpose.
"The Government - in the words of Marcos Bergaz, socialist spokesman - indebts the Corporation, after boasting so much about zero debt and having ´chascado´ a large part of the Treasury surplus, savings of the City Council and the teguiseños, during this last year, reducing the more than 11 million that there were at the beginning of 2023 to the scarce million and a bit that remains at present, after two recent budget modifications charged to surplus precisely".
"Now, and after saying that it was impossible to assume the payment of all those expropriations at the same time - in the words of the mayor herself, Olivia Duque -, they choose to resort to a loan of 3'1 euros to face the payment of 805,249.98 euros more for the ´Tahíche case´, which has meant a total cost close to five million euros and on which the PSOE has been reporting; 847,524.12 euros, for a plot in Famara, which amounts to a total of 1,059,405 euros and whose details we also recently announced; and 1,470,000 euros of the plots expropriated by the famous and oldest sentence of Caleta de Caballo, for an amount of 6 million euros", emphasizes Marcos Bergaz.
From the PSOE, they criticize "the strategy of not facing any of these cases for years, in an ostrich technique that has led to having to pay more than 12 million euros for these expropriations, of which more than two million correspond to interest generated by the delay in paying, in the absence of agreed solutions or via planning, which would totally or partially avoid these millionaire disbursements that come from the taxes of all teguiseños and gracioseros", confirms the socialist leader.
"We greatly fear, unfortunately, that they will not be the last sentences to face. For this reason, we have requested on several occasions, before the single-color government of CC, now also its partners of PP and Vox, to share with all political groups the maximum information on each urban case, as well as to make known the condemnatory sentences that could derive from them", concludes Bergaz.
