The PSOE of Teguise has criticized the "worrying pre-election aroma" of the budgets presented by Oswaldo Betancort, which were approved last February, and which are currently on public display. For this reason, the socialists have presented several allegations to "improve" the initial budgets.

“The government of Oswaldo Betancort is committed to increasing spending on advertising and propaganda, sponsorships and resorting to a millionaire loan for ‘piche’”, the socialists point out.

The PSOE of Teguise considers it “essential” to fulfill various promises, “such as the increase in scholarships or a beautification plan for the towns”. The spokesperson, Marcos Bergaz, points out that it is also necessary to “do our homework in terms of planning, or increase resources for the primary sector”.

“It is only fair to increase aid to students and families in the municipality, so we are committed to further increasing their allocation, because it is unacceptable for this government to increase advertising and propaganda more than Study Aid", adds Bergaz.

For the socialist team of Teguise, "the modification of the current bases that govern its concession” is also a priority, so that they are “more just and supportive”.

"Patching up the forgetfulness”

Similarly, the PSOE considers it necessary to allocate resources to undertake a town beautification plan. “They are the great forgotten by the Teguise government and now, in the year prior to the elections, they want to patch up this forgetfulness with actions that are limited to putting 'piche' when it should be planned to do so regularly”, justifies Marcos Bergaz.

“In addition, we want to provide new resources to the primary sector to facilitate the work of farmers, in a municipality where the countryside is part of our idiosyncrasy”, he adds.

“Nor should we leave out the urgent need to take steps to address the pending tasks that affect planning, whether it be the revision of the general plan, the modernization plan for Costa Teguise or the special plan for the historic center of La Villa”, adds Bergaz, who states that “they constitute some of the unfulfilled promises of the municipal executive”.

“Although it is not the budget that Teguise needs, and that is why we presented an amendment to the entirety that the Canarian Coalition rejected, we are willing to improve it, as it is our obligation to look after the general interest”, says Bergaz, who does not believe that these allegations will prosper: “We greatly fear that, following their strategy of not even saying ‘good morning’ to the PSOE, they will reject our initiatives, but it is our duty as an alternative to the current government, to present new proposals for and for Teguise and La Graciosa”.
