The PSOE criticizes that the mayor of Arrecife, Ástrid Pérez, has not attended any meetings of the Water Consortium throughout her mandate. "The mayor of Arrecife has not worried about the city's water infrastructure throughout the legislature, as she has despised the Consortium, which she only remembers to justify her incompetence," denounces Cristina Pérez.
For the socialists, "Astrid Pérez has undoubtedly been the most irresponsible mayor that the municipality of Arrecife has had in its entire history." "The latest example is the contempt shown by the popular councilor for the Water Consortium, where the island's town councils are partners together with the Cabildo of Lanzarote and Pérez has not attended any of the meetings in the almost four years that she has been in office in Arrecife," they add.
“The latest attempts to evade her responsibilities as mayor of the city have been to criticize the Island Water Consortium when she does not even attend its meetings.” recalls Cristina Duque. And it is, that "to the lack of projects developed by an incompetent mayor together with the delays that Arrecife has caused to the Cabildo, slowing down the arrangement of Portugal Street for more than half a year, as well as the boycott of the Manolo Millares Street project, we must add the fact that the mayor of Arrecife herself has not bothered to go through the Consortium Assembly," says the socialist councilor. “If Astrid Pérez wants to criticize the Water Consortium, she should at least go there, Arrecife cannot be fixed without working,” clarifies Cristina Duque.
The socialists of Arrecife "condemn" that these four years the mayor has burned them fighting with everyone. “Astrid has become a constant fight that benefits no one, especially at the end of the legislature when she is cornered by the poor management carried out,” clarifies the socialist councilor.
Cristina Duque recalls "that the mayor herself and her advisors disappeared from the city in the last flood crisis, celebrating feasts and having fun on social networks. It is a constant that the PP of Arrecife does not work and insults others to justify their absence," explains Cristina Duque.
Finally, from the PSOE they hope "that in the few months that remain of this legislature Pérez tries to calm down and do something useful." “From the PSOE we offer our hand to do positive things for the capital, and we invite her to fight less and work more” says the socialist spokesperson.
